We have many aspirations with Go-Green. To make quality flowerless vases and other fine wood products from lumber not obtained from a lumber yard. All items made of wood you see here on our website are either made from re-claimed lumber, (lumber previously used on any number of projects), discarded timber (timber destined to be burned), or selective thinning. The latter process is used on about half of our wood products. Tamaracks need space to grow fast. When crowded, they will either die prematurely or be overtaken by the Black Spruce. When they have the space they need, they can grow into a healthy tree and eventually be the overstory (tallest trees in the forest). We simply cut down the trees that would most likely die. This process also decreases the chances of invasive species destroying entire areas and will also decrease the chances of a forest fire wiping out large areas. When spaced right, a healthy Tamarack forest can survive. The wood on a healthy Tamarack is so hard and wet that most fires cannot burn them down.
We hope that we can empower every reader of this website to adopt our mission and to take some form of action and empower others' to do the same. We want this "movement" to have a significant impact on Helping Obtain A Greener Tomorrow. The problem with most so-called green companies is they either pretend to be green for mere profit or they lose sight they are running a business for profit. With every product we sell, we are one step closer to accomplishing our goal to make a substantial difference to the environment in a country where we are privileged to be living in. Every move Go-Green makes is a calculated, conscientious decision. However, no matter how calculated and thought out our moves are, we will continue to make mistakes. This is one of the many challenges that keeps the fire burning in our bellies.
Make no mistake, we are not as green as we would like to be. As a matter of fact, I, personally have spent the majority of my life trampling on this beautiful Earth I have been so fortunate to live. Like most people, I didn't arbitrarily do this by design. I merely took it for granted.
Noteworthy: I would like to extrapolate on something. I don't want to come off like a pompous arrogant ass and diminish the incredible efforts of millions of Americans throughout this great land. I have read hundreds of articles on the green movement and have discovered the focus is usually on what 'you' are actually doing for the movement? Many people and organizations send you on a trip of guilt. I, or anybody that works for Go-Green Products isn't making any claims that we are better or above any of the hard working people that contribute little to nothing for the green movement. There are firefighters; soldiers that defend our country; veterinarians; police officers that protect our neighborhoods; surgeons that save lives; doctors and nurses that work tirelessly; researchers that find cures for once incurable diseases; mothers and fathers that expend their efforts to raise the best children they can; educators that help mold the young minds that will shape our futures; volunteers that give their time for others and their spare money for causes that are close to their hearts and a plethora of other examples that I could expound on endlessly. To further substantiate our understanding for the above, Go-Green Products are going to use this platform to advance our passion to help educate and inform our readers the importance of giving dogs, cats and other animals a voice. For instance, the importance of spaying and neutering, reporting animal abuses and the benefits of purchasing pets through animal rescue services or shelters, just to name a few.
We have big aspirations and we have a good idea what we need to do to achieve them.
I ask myself the following questions every single day. If I passed away today, what impact have I made on society? Have I made a difference? Have I given back more than I have taken? Have I influenced people in a positive way? The answers to these questions are my driving force to wake up every single morning and strive to leave a legacy that I/we can be proud of. Life is a brisk walk across the stage. With the steps that remain, we have made it our goal to make mine/ours a meaningful one.
Sincerely,
Jeff Hoffman, president
